In line with the Provincial health orders, we must close the pool/hot tub and need to operate in accordance with Mandatory, additional restrictions for high case regions.  As a result, the Amenities building will again be fully closed effective Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 10:00 p.m.

This action is regretful but necessary due, primarily, to the non-compliance of Alberta residents in managing Covid-19 risk.
We remind you as follows:

• Mask use: is mandatory in all inside common areas, including the garage.
• Visitors: no family or general visitors are permitted on the premises.
  • Exceptions to the above:
    • Contractors and workers supporting necessary infrastructure and in-unit necessary repairs, mail and delivery personnel, and other approved service suppliers.
    • Service visits from caregivers, health- or child-care providers, or co-parenting arrangements.
    • Refer to next bullet.
• Indoor social close contact: is limited to those in the same household, while people who live alone may have up to two non-household close contacts. These close contacts must be the same two contacts throughout the duration of the restriction and may be Visitors.
• Use of your condo unit by out-of-town visitors: Visitors cannot stay in other people's homes, regardless of where they are coming from.
• Pool/Hot Tub: Closed and all bookings effective on and from Sunday, May 10, 2021 are cancelled.
• Amenities building: will be closed on Sunday, May 9, 2021 at 10:00 p.m., including the tunnel access areas. The building will not be accessible.
• Guest Suites: remain closed.

​Dear Owners/Tenants,

Covid, Covid, Covid ! Yes, we are all tired of restrictions on our lives and our lifestyles. It has been more than a year since Crossbow Point and its’ owners have been engaged in compliance with Alberta Health Service (AHS) restrictions in order to keep ourselves and our community safe.

As you are well aware, overall cases are increasing in Alberta with over 50% due to one or more of the variant strains, which are highly transmittable and affecting a broad age range of the population. Banff, has been declared the hottest spot in Alberta with a case rate of 1,100 per 100,000 as of April 22nd, as compared to the provincial per capita rate of 417 per 100,000. Canmore has a case rate of 411 per 100,000 as of the same date. The close proximity of these two tourist towns, along with the daily flow of people back and forth between the communities, creates added risk to Canmore and its’ residents. In addition, there is much travel from other parts of Alberta to our community due to vacation homes and general tourism.

We have spent the last year not having friends or family visit or stay overnight in our condos. We have been wearing masks while in the condo complex respectively protecting both ourselves and others. We thank you for being responsible, committed and courteous.

Your Board has chosen to communicate to owners the latest rules within the context of an apartment style condominium and act when asked by AHS to close or modify our facility operations. The Board operates under a governance mandate with respect to our condo. We do not have nor assume the authority to report non-compliant behavior of individual owners; however, individual condo owners may report those who are or continue to be non-compliant with restrictions issued by AHS. The consequence may be a significant fine to the individual by authorities. The following instruction has been copied directly from the Alberta Health Service website:

Enforcement: If you are concerned that someone is not following public health orders, you can:

• Remind them that not following public health orders is against the law and puts people at risk
• Request service from AHS public health inspectors online or call: 1-833-415-9179

We have previously written to owners/tenants to remind everyone of compliance requirements. These include:

• MASKS: To be worn in all inside common property areas (e.g., lobbies, hallways, garage, amenities building).
• VISITORS: Visitors/guests (including family members who do not live with you) are NOT permitted inside our buildings nor your unit and patio/balcony, except as required for deliveries, repairs, contractors, medical services and the like. All contractors are required to be masked while inside. We do note that, as per AHS guidelines, people living alone are permitted guests consisting of up to two ongoing designated individuals.
• TRAVEL: Travel at this time from other geographic areas to Canmore and our condo complex is discouraged as this increases the medical risk to residents.

Crossbow Point is a very large condominium within the Canmore community, and this can increase Covid-19 medical risk. Portions of our residential community have vulnerable group status due to age, and some have compromised medical conditions. We appreciate and thank
you for bearing this in mind in your decision to comply with Covid-19 guidance and requirements.

We ask for your continued patience and support throughout this and the next phases of Covid-19. Let’s work together to do our bit to bend the curve and keep ourselves and other residents of Crossbow Point safe.
