Policies and Procedures/Part 4: Other Matters
GARBAGE and RECYCLING/REFUNDABLES
Garbage
Garbage chutes are located on each floor of residential buildings; you are requested not to use these chutes after 9:00 PM as a courtesy to neighbouring residents. In addition, large garbage containers are located in rooms on the garage level (155-on P2 next to the car wash; 175-on P1 next to the car wash).
• All garbage must be bagged, tied, and placed inside the dumpster. Please do not leave
garbage on the ground, outside the bin, around the bin, or in the garbage chute room on
your floor.
• Garbage bins are strictly for household garbage. Large items such as furniture are not to
be placed beside the bins. The Town of Canmore does offer a large item pick up for
disposal of said items. Please contact their offices to arrange for pick up.
• Please do not leave garbage on your deck/patio or on other common property. This is in
contravention with the condominium By-Laws and may result in administrative fees being levied against the owner.
RECYCLING
Recycling is a practice at Crossbow Point and the program is to be used by all residents. Recycle stations are located in the garages (155-on P2 near the west end entrance; 175-on P1 at the west end). Recycling is divided into 5 categories:
• Cardboard (all cardboard is to be ‘flattened’ please)
• Plastic containers
• Newspapers and Magazines
• Tin cans
• Glass bottles
MOVING BOXES and LARGE APPLIANCE BOXES are not permitted
PLEASE NOTE: All other materials not specifically mentioned above (such as plastic bags, light bulbs, bubble wrap, coat hangers) should be considered garbage and not placed in the recycling bins.
REFUNDABLES
Refundable items (these are all items upon which you paid an extra fee (eco-fee) at purchase) – all collection and transport of refundable items is done by our Crossbow Point community volunteers, with proceeds paid to the benefit of the Crossbow Point Social Fund
