Elevator shutdown - Neighbours Helping Neighbours

Dear owners and residents,
As a result of pending elevator shutdowns that are currently scheduled to occur in November:

• 175 building - likely Nov. 3 to about Nov. 17
• 155 building - likely Nov. 17 to about Dec. 3

(for reference details please refer to separate past and upcoming communications (as they become available) on this subject from PEKA) we are facilitating a volunteer Neighbors Helping Neighbors arrangement, where volunteer Assistance Providers offer to provide aid to other neighbors requesting such aid (Assistance Receivers).

The term "assistance” may include a variety of services such as carrying bags up and down stairs, acting as a guide to navigate stairways, purchasing and delivering groceries, or the fulfillment of other needs as identified and mutually agreed upon by the parties involved.

A confidential (not to be shared) Neighbours Helping Neighbors spreadsheet in ‘pdf’ format will be issued to all those responding as ASSISTANCE PROVIDERS and as ASSISTANCE REQUESTORS.

ACTION FOR YOU TO TAKE IF YOU ARE INTERESTED in providing assistance or if you could benefit from receiving assistance:

In the body of the email, indicate:

• Status: State if you are volunteering as an ‘Assistance Provider’ or if you are an ‘Assistance Requestor’
• Name (first and last names):
• Unit #:
• Building #:
• Phone #:
• Email:

Upon receipt of the above information, every Assistance Provider and Requestor will be emailed a confidential listing of all participating individuals. The list will be updated from time to time if additional participants are identified. Please note that the list is confidential and is for the specific volunteer participants only; it is not to be shared with anyone else.

Once the listing is distributed, those in need should contact their Assistance Provider of choice and determine availability, etc.
